The organization’s mandate includes implementing national policy on cryptographic protection and ensuring the security of national electronic communication networks.

Challenge

ABCommunication was tasked with equipping the Client’s units with mobile video conferencing (VC) systems to enable rapid remote communication during off-site missions or temporary events. The project involved addressing several critical technical challenges:

  • Logistics & Protection: The need for compact and secure transportation of a diverse hardware suite (terminals, codecs, and peripherals) of varying dimensions and form factors.

  • Custom Integration: A lack of off-the-shelf solutions for secure component mounting within transit cases, which posed significant risks of hardware damage during transit.

  • Operational Readiness: The requirement to minimize deployment and configuration time for personnel operating in the field.

Solution

Cisco hardware (including Room Kit EQ, No-Radio, Quad Cam, and Room Vision PTZ series) was selected as the optimal choice to meet the Client’s stringent reliability and communication quality requirements.

Architectural & Engineering Approach: Moving beyond standard equipment supply, our team implemented a bespoke engineering adaptation of the systems:

  • Custom Transit Cases: Design of individual compartments and precision laser-cutting of polystyrene foam inserts tailored to each specific component.

  • 3D Design & Prototyping: Development and 3D printing of custom mounting platforms to secure video terminals onto tripods, ensuring structural integrity and a monolithic build.

  • Visual Unification: In accordance with the Client’s specifications, all system elements, including cases and hardware fittings, were delivered in a uniform black finish.

Implementation Phases

  1. Engineering & Design: Component dimension calculations and development of 3D models for mounting platforms and internal case layouts.

  2. Assembly & Integration Testing: Hardware mounting within the transit cases, followed by rigorous verification of structural integrity and system performance in the assembled state.

  3. Software Configuration: Firmware updates, implementation of security protocols, and comprehensive connectivity stability testing.

  4. Technical Documentation: Development of step-by-step user manuals for rapid deployment, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.

  5. Knowledge Transfer: Technical briefing and training for the Client’s personnel on system administration and monitoring.
